Do You Believe in Ghosts?
A true haunting from San Marcos, Texas— told in pictures and sound.
The Fire Station Studios in San Marcos, Texas, has a long and eerie history.
Once the city’s first fire station in the early 1900s, the building also served as a bank and jail before becoming part of Texas State University. Now a recognized historical landmark, it carries more than just memories—students and staff have reported hearing voices, seeing shadows, and even witnessing unexplained smoke. Some believe the spirits of firefighters or past occupants still linger, making their presence known.
Crafting the Curse
This project was entirely handmade and printed using the Risograph. Along with the photobook, the package includes a set of photo cards—some printed on colored paper and a limited edition selection on transparent paper, creating a haunting translucent effect. These special prints are randomly distributed, making them a surprise for those who receive them. Additionally, a mini typography poster, embossed by hand, is included as a unique element of the set.
To further bring the haunting to life beyond the page, an audiobook version is available to play here, allowing you to hear the chilling stories firsthand. Special thanks to music engineer Jorge Charur, who created and edited the sound design, and to Jacolby Dixon, the voice actor who gave the story its voice.
